Meet Amanda

 About Amanda Morrison

Strategist. Storyteller. Community Builder.

Based in Nova Scotia, I live and work at the intersection of strategy and storytelling. My life is a blend of structured professional goals and the unpredictable, vibrant world of creative exploration.

The Professional Side

By day, I serve as a Loan Portfolio Manager at CEED (The Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development). In this role, I have the privilege of helping local entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of business growth, turning ambitious dreams into sustainable realities through financial strategy and departmental reporting.

The Creative Side

Outside the office, I am a dedicated creative focused on capturing the human experience—both through a lens and on the page. I am a published author of two children's books and am currently deep in the manuscript for my first novel, Other Half. Whether I am writing about the "Hero's Journey" or capturing a moment through photography, I am fascinated by the complex "ecosystems" of human connection.

The Community Side

I believe that connection is the heartbeat of a thriving life, especially as we enter new chapters. This belief drives my leadership in the local community:

  • The Sequel Society: I founded this social and growth club specifically for women aged 40–60.
We focus on building deep friendships, fostering personal growth, and checking off those "bucket list" adventures we’ve put off for too long.

  • Dartmouth Open Writing Group: I facilitate this monthly group at the Alderney Gate Public Library, providing a supportive and structured space for local writers to hone their craft and share their progress.

The Personal Chapters

When I'm not managing portfolios or facilitating groups, you can usually find me:

  • Mastering (and occasionally wrestling with) French verbs as an intermediate student.

  • Methodically working my way through the "1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die" list—while maintaining a very vocal scepticism of Jane Austen’s prose.

  • Documenting the witty, wonderful quirks of life after 40.

I believe that this stage of life isn't just a continuation—it’s a sequel worth writing with intention.

Let’s Connect

Whether you are a fellow writer, a potential "Sequel" member, or a local entrepreneur, I’d love to have you as part of my ecosystem.
